About
The Lost Folklore Collection stands as a testament to the enduring power of storytelling and the human imagination. By delving into the rich tapestry of global folklore, Elena Dova not only preserves the essence of cultural narratives that risk being forgotten but she also offers a fresh perspective through her own personal artistic interpretation.
Each piece in the collection serves as a bridge, connecting viewers to the diverse heritage of humanity and inviting introspection on the shared threads of our existence.
The Exhibition
The initiative to rekindle interest in these stories is a noble pursuit, fostering a sense of unity and continuity amidst the rapid changes of the modern world.
Elena Dova’s The Lost Folklore Collection is a reminder that, despite the advancements and distractions of contemporary life, the stories of our ancestors still hold valuable lessons and a timeless appeal that can inspire and enlighten us today.
“The Lost Folklore Collection is a project I started in 2021, with two goals: to explore and represent different characters that are part of folklore and folktales around the world; and to imbue them with a personal interpretation. Some of these characters are already forgotten in their own culture, whilst others are barely surviving in this era of technological over - dependency, social isolation, and disconnection from our origins.”
